Are you a heavy machine operator who also likes to teach? A civil and mining training company near Perth wants trainers and assessors. You need a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
You teach one student at a time. The training is on a live mine. The goal is safe, confident operators who are ready to work.
There are 2 jobs. Job 1 is Civil Trainer & Assessor. You work Monday to Friday, 8-12 hours a shift, and alternating Saturdays are available. The other job is Dozer / Excavator Trainer for production mining D11 and 3600 machines. It is also 8-12 hours a shift, Monday to Friday, at 2 mine sites.
The site is about 60 minutes north of Perth CBD. It is not FIFO. You go home every night. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Give nationally recognised training and competency-based assessments
- Teach machine operation one-on-one on a live mine site
- Help students get ready for jobs in civil and mining
- Follow site rules and best practice in the industry
- Follow the WHS Act 2020, Mines Safety and Inspection legislation and RTO standards
- Only mark operators competent when they are competent
- Write training and assessment papers carefully and correctly
- Work with a friendly, supportive training team and keep the learning place safe, professional and positive
- Mining trainer: help with civil training when there are no Dozer & Excavator programmes
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110
- Relevant experience driving civil and mining equipment
- Supervisor experience is desirable
- Can work under pressure and make decisions
- Can work alone or in a team
- Good time management, very important with customers who paid for training
- Likes helping people
- Proud of high safety and training standards
- Reliable, professional and on time
- Civil Trainer: current competency and experience with many civil plant items is highly regarded, like RIIMPO338E – Rigid Haul Truck, RIIHAN309F – Telehandler, RIIMPO318F – Skid Steer Loader, RIIHAN311F – Integrated Tool Carrier, RIIMPO317F – Roller, RIIMPO321F – Front End Loader, RIIMPO206D – Bulk Water Truck, RIIMPO320F – Civil Construction Excavator and RIIMPO337E – Articulated Haul Truck
- Mining Trainer: RIIMPO323E – Dozer and RIIMPO324F – Grader (RII qualifications not required but desirable); the civil plant units above are an added advantage
- Can pass a pre-employment medical and daily breathalyser tests
