Do you work in accounting and want a job in Australia? A financial services business in Wollongong, NSW, is hiring a full-time Accountant.
The business does accounting, tax, lending and financial advice. It wants someone with around 2 to 3 years of public practice experience in Australia. You will help SME clients, companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals. A Senior Accountant will support you and review your work. Later, you get more responsibility and more direct work with clients.
There is mentoring and help with CPA or CA development. The role can lead to Senior Accountant and then Client Manager. Visa sponsorship may be considered, based on your experience, your fit for the role and your visa eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns and BAS
- Work with companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, including SME clients
- Do individual tax returns and help with year-end tax planning
- Talk to clients, and to the ATO if needed
- Manage your own work and statutory deadlines, and help the Senior Accountant with clients in Xero and other cloud systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Around 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice experience in accounting
- Experience making financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Good knowledge of Australian tax and compliance work, including preparing BAS
- Strong skills using Xero
- Good written and spoken communication, strong attention to detail, and able to manage competing deadlines
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or equivalent; CPA or CA studies (or plans to start them) highly regarded
