Do you have experience as a Sous Chef or senior chef? A busy café on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, needs a Sous Chef for its high-volume kitchen. You will work with the Head Chef and another Sous Chef. Together you lead the kitchen.
Your work is simple to explain. You help plan prep and sections. You lead the team in busy times. You keep the food good and the kitchen clean and safe. Sometimes you run the kitchen yourself.
The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right person. You need experience in a similar role, and you must pass a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and help the kitchen team in busy services
- Work with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to run the kitchen every day
- Plan prep, sections and daily work in the kitchen
- Keep food quality, presentation, food safety and cleanliness at a good standard
- Train kitchen staff, lead the kitchen when needed and keep a positive, tidy and professional team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Good experience in a busy, high-volume café or a similar kitchen
- Experience before as Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Confident to lead a team and run a busy service
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Reliable, calm under pressure, takes ownership and happy to work hands-on with the team, with a strong understanding of food quality and consistency
- Can work 5 days per week, also Saturday and Sunday
