Are you a cook who loves Indian food? An Indian restaurant near Dunedin, New Zealand, is looking for an Indian Curry / Tandoori Chef. This is a permanent full-time job. You work at least 30 hours every week.
The restaurant gets busy at lunch and dinner. You lead these services, sometimes alone and sometimes with other cooks. You also train kitchen staff and apprentices. Food must look good and stay clean and safe under New Zealand food safety rules. You can suggest new dishes, and you help manage stock so less food is wasted.
Applicants need New Zealand residency, a valid New Zealand work visa, or eligibility for sponsorship under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead busy lunch and dinner services, alone or with the team
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and apprentices in cooking and menu preparation
- Keep food preparation, presentation and cleanliness in line with New Zealand food safety rules
- Give ideas for new dishes, help with the menu, check stock, reduce waste and keep costs low
- Speak clearly with customers and staff and keep the team positive
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of work as a chef or higher in a commercial kitchen
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong skills in communication
- Strong skills in organising work
- Can work quickly under pressure and keep quality the same
- Flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, and committed to long-term employment
