Do you enjoy cooking Italian dishes? Here is a Chef de Partie job in Melbourne. Senior Chef de Partie cooks are welcome too. The employer is an Italian restaurant group. It is established and growing. The job is at its first restaurant, a pasta bar with many years of history.
Your job is to look after one station by yourself: pans, where pasta is cooked, or larder. Knowing Italian food and its culture is important. Each day, cooks there make pasta fresh in a kitchen that has just been built. Produce comes from craft makers in Italy and nearby farms.
At the start, you work casual shifts. That can be up to 40 hours a week on a fixed roster. When your trial of at least four weeks ends, the employer decides on full-time contracts. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate. Pay is based on skill, taste (palate), teamwork, experience and how hard you work.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after the pans or larder station by yourself while orders come in
- Finish your prep and mise en place before doors open
- Make sure every plate from your station tastes and looks right
- Cook side by side with the Sous Chef in prep time and service
- Keep benches and tools spotless, meet food safety rules, be a cheerful part of the team and learn new things every day
Requirements & Eligibility
- Suitable qualifications
- Solid training from your time in the industry
- You have run a section when the kitchen is full of orders
- You can work alone
- You plan your work well and are a strong communicator
- Real interest in Italian culture and cooking, and in the farms and makers behind good ingredients
- You know how to handle food safely and hygienically, and you help the team while adding your own strengths
