Key Responsibilities
- Service vehicles and machines regularly
- Repair vehicles and machines when they break
- Go to callouts and fix problems quickly
- Use machines and tools safely
- Supervise station workers and teach them daily checks and services
- Write down parts you use for reordering, and keep common parts in stock
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualified in Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
- At least 2 years' experience
- Experience as a mechanic in a similar job
- Real passion for station life
- Can use diagnostic and test equipment safely on all company vehicles
- C Class driver's licence (essential)
- Motorcycle licence, HR or MC licence would be an advantage
- Uses tools and equipment safely and well
- Can work alone and in a team in a remote place
- Can find innovative solutions when parts or tools are not easy to find
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, good communication and a positive attitude would be an advantage; fit to work in high temperatures and high humidity
