A food factory in Hamilton, New Zealand, needs a planner. The company is in the primary sector. It is growing. It sells mostly to China and Southeast Asia.
In this job you plan what the factory makes and when. You also help the factory and the sales team stay in touch. The busy deer velvet season goes on until February/March, so you must be ready to work fast from the start.
The job is full-time. You work 40 hours per week, and more in the busy season. You start as soon as possible. You will lead one person, so it is a first step into leadership, with room to grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Make production schedules and manage them for capacity, cost and quality targets
- Forecast demand and give a longer-term view of operations
- Use SAP well and look after master data, inventories and bills of materials
- Coordinate the supply chain, packaging suppliers and dispatch
- Work with QA on traceability, MPI rules and export market needs
- Link production with sales
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in production planning in manufacturing
- Strong forecasting skills
- Hands-on ERP experience; SAP is strongly preferred and you can get training
- Experience in food or primary industry manufacturing
- Knowledge of QA
- Clear communication, and confidence when you manage customer expectations; practical, resilient and flexible when deadlines move
- Desirable skills are team leadership, health and safety experience or knowledge of exporting to Asia
- If you are shortlisted, there will be reference checks and a Ministry of Justice criminal record check
