Are you good with big excavators? A recycling yard in Auckland, New Zealand, needs a Heavy Excavator Operator. The job is permanent and full-time.
You will use a 30-tonne excavator on tracks. It has three tools. The shear cuts steel. The grapple sorts metal. The magnet lifts iron and steel. You will do every step, from cutting heavy steel to loading containers for export.
You get at least 30 hours each week. Many weeks have up to 50 hours. The yard is busy, and safety is very important.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut cars, machines and steel with the shear
- Sort metal with the grapple
- Put metal into balers and shredders
- Make iron and steel stockpiles with the magnet and keep lanes clean
- Check the machine before each shift and care for hydraulic lines when you change tools
Requirements & Eligibility
- Work history on 30-tonne-plus excavators in a scrap metal yard, heavy demolition or quarry environment
- Direct, confident skill with a hydraulic shear, grapple and magnet (essential)
- A valid NZ Class 1 licence and a WTR endorsement (highly preferred)
- Good space awareness near trucks, machines and ground workers; able to pass a drug and alcohol screening before employment
