Key Responsibilities
- Lead care workers with the Clinical Manager so care is safe and right for each resident
- Assess what each resident needs
- Plan care and explain it to staff, residents, families and the multidisciplinary team
- Help residents get good results that follow their care plans and safe work rules
- Give care to each person that supports independence, dignity and privacy
- Check residents often, report changes and take action
- Try new ideas to make care and life better
- Help residents make their own choices
- Collect information for funding claims
- Hand over to the next shift with other registered nurses
- Keep resident details private and show respect at all times
- Manage medicines, infection control and Work Health and Safety, and join accreditation audits to stay compliant
- Follow all accreditation requirements in daily work
Requirements & Eligibility
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse is essential
- Experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in aged care
- Experience in a multidisciplinary team in aged care
- Knowledge of current aged care issues and accreditation standards
- Able to lead, give tasks to others and help residents get good outcomes
- Good English for writing and speaking
- Good at solving problems and planning work
- Wants to keep learning, with basic to intermediate computer skills
