Can you weld and also help build complete trailers? A busy trailer manufacturer in Rocklea, Brisbane is hiring an experienced MIG Welder. The job is permanent and full-time.
This role is more than welding. You will also fit trailers, assemble them and install mechanical and electrical components. You should be able to show real-world experience in this work. You will help produce trailers from the structural fabrication stage to the final system checks. Accuracy, consistency and practical problem-solving matter in every part of the job.

Key Responsibilities
- Check drawings, welding specifications and measurements before you begin
- Prepare, position and assemble the fabricated trailer sections
- MIG weld steel trailer frames, chassis and related parts
- Fit the chassis, suspension, brakes and other trailer components
- Install air, electrical and hydraulic systems where required, and test them before the job is complete
- Add accessories and custom trailer features
- Use welding machines, hand tools and measuring equipment the correct way
- Inspect the integrity of welds, the dimensions and the quality of the finished assembly
- Find and report materials, components or workmanship that do not conform
- Keep the workshop safe and organised, work with the production team to keep work flowing, and meet the required quality, safety and production standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of practical welding experience
- Past experience in trailer manufacturing or trailer assembly
- Strong MIG welding skills on steel
- You can understand blueprints and technical drawings and work from them
- Competent with workshop tools and measuring equipment
- Hands-on understanding of trailer suspension, chassis and braking components
- Experience with air, hydraulic or electrical trailer systems is advantageous
- You can demonstrate genuine hands-on trade experience
- Strong attention to detail, consistent workmanship and a reliable approach to attendance and production duties
- A safety-conscious attitude in a manufacturing environment
- Welding certification is advantageous but not essential
- Sponsorship available for suitable candidates
