Warehouse Supervisor (2IC)

Have you worked in a warehouse and want to step into leadership? A business in Auckland, New Zealand needs a Warehouse Supervisor. You should be able to show real experience in logistics, inventory control, team coordination, customer service and daily warehouse operations.

This job is about much more than moving stock. You will be a key person in operations. You keep warehouse work organised, help orders move quickly, support your team and keep safety and accuracy high.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily warehouse operations and coordinate the team's work
  • Motivate and support warehouse staff, and build accountability, teamwork and a positive culture
  • Organise receiving, storage, picking and dispatch, plus deliveries, customer collections and their schedules
  • Handle incoming shipments, process incoming containers with related warehouse tasks, and manage internal stock transfers
  • Process customer orders accurately and on time, and monitor DIFOT and overall customer order performance
  • Check stock levels, keep inventory records and warehouse systems up to date, run cycle counts and look into any stock differences
  • Rotate stock correctly and store products safely
  • Keep the warehouse clean, efficient and well organised, and make sure standard operating processes and warehouse procedures are followed
  • Promote workplace health and safety standards and check that people follow them
  • Plan staffing needs, arrange temporary labour support when required, and help the Warehouse Manager with operational planning and staffing
  • Help with servicing and certification of vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • Keep warehouse equipment, vehicles and company property safe to use
  • Support compliance requirements and operational certifications
  • Complete operational paperwork, timesheets, reports and compliance documents
  • Find ways to improve warehouse processes, introduce practical ideas that raise efficiency and productivity, and work with the wider operations team to improve the customer experience

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain, distribution, logistics or warehouse supervision work
  • Past experience leading or coordinating warehouse employees, and the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
  • Hands-on knowledge of inventory management and stock control, with experience using inventory or warehouse management systems
  • Experience handling customer orders, dispatch, deliveries or collections, with a customer-focused approach
  • Understanding of the health and safety procedures used in warehouses
  • Able to work with confidence in a hands-on warehouse environment
  • Strong time-management and organisational abilities, and able to manage several operational priorities
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive approach to finding operational improvements, plus a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to give genuine, verifiable details of your previous employment and relevant experience
