Underground Electrician

An established Western Australian mining operation has a permanent Underground Electrical Trades position. It is a chance to build a long and rewarding career.
There are two ways to work: live in Kalgoorlie as a resident, or fly in and fly out (FIFO) from Perth. Shifts are 12 hours long, on a 7/7 or 2/2 roster.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep underground electrical equipment and systems working, and repair them when they fail
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance
- Attend breakdowns and other operational issues quickly
- Inspect, test and diagnose electrical faults, then repair them effectively
- Check that all electrical systems and equipment stay safe and reliable
- Help underground production and maintenance teams with their work
- Stick to site electrical procedures and safety requirements, and complete isolations and other electrical safety steps as required
- Record your maintenance work accurately
- Cooperate with operational personnel and other trades
- Join training and mentoring, grow professionally and help improve equipment reliability
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold an Australian-recognised electrical trade qualification
- You hold a current A Grade Western Australian Electrical Licence
- You have at least 3 years' experience in the electrical industry
- Mining experience desirable; underground mining experience advantageous
- You hold a current C Class Manual Driver's Licence
- HV Switching ticket desirable
- Working at Heights certification desirable
- High Risk Work Licence desirable
- You are safety-aware and bring a professional work ethic
- You can work 12-hour shifts and are willing to work a 7/7 or 2/2 roster
