The workplace is a professional multi-brand dealership in New South Wales with a modern workshop. You will work on passenger cars and used vehicles. Your tasks will include diagnostics, servicing, repairs and inspections, and you will be part of an experienced team.
The job gives you steady Monday-to-Friday work, ongoing technical training, the chance to build your skills and potential for long-term career progression. Get your trade papers ready, with English translations where the visa rules require them.
Key Responsibilities
- Use professional diagnostic tools to find mechanical and electronic faults in vehicles
- Do logbook services, routine services and planned maintenance
- Repair many kinds of passenger vehicles from different brands, including warranty work done to the manufacturer's specifications
- Carry out pre-delivery inspections and the safety checks each vehicle needs
- Understand technical information, repair manuals and wiring diagrams
- Record finished repairs correctly in the workshop software, and explain any extra repairs you find to the service team
- Follow the dealership's workshop procedures, safety standards and manufacturer guidelines, and keep your work area clean, tidy and efficient
- Join technical training and learn about new vehicle systems and repair methods
- Work as a team with the other technicians and help apprentices when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or a recognised qualification that is equivalent
- A valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on automotive experience that relates to this role
- Proven practical work in servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs, and you feel confident with many vehicle brands and models
- You understand automotive technical manuals, wiring diagrams and OEM procedures
- Experience with manufacturer warranty repair processes is advantageous
- You can use diagnostic scan tools and workshop management systems with confidence
- Careful attention to detail and accurate workmanship
- You are reliable and on time, and you work well in a team
- A valid Australian driver's licence, preferably with the ability to drive a manual
- You can provide evidence of your relevant qualifications and employment experience
