The employer is a growing Australian electrical engineering and manufacturing business. It is adding to its technical workforce and needs experienced people to help deliver advanced electrical equipment and power-system projects. There are openings for switchboard electricians and for HV/MV electrical engineers.

Key Responsibilities
- Switchboard Electrician duties:
- Test LV, MV and HV switchboards before they are delivered and installed
- Inspect switchboards and transportable switchrooms to confirm electrical and mechanical compliance
- Carry out continuity and insulation resistance tests, plus earth continuity, phase rotation and polarity checks
- Check control circuits and how they operate, and verify protection relays and related electrical systems
- Track down and fix wiring, electrical and functional faults
- Build and modify control panels, MCCs and switchboards
- Read wiring drawings, single line diagrams and electrical schematics
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing, record test results and prepare commissioning documents
- Make sure all work meets project specifications and the relevant Australian Standards
- Help with commissioning and installation on site, including shutdown and after-hours commissioning work when required
- Guide apprentices and junior electrical staff on technical matters
- HV/MV Electrical Engineer duties (switchboards and power systems):
- Support engineering work on MV and HV electrical infrastructure
- Work with switchgear, switchboards, substations and transportable electrical systems
- Contribute to protection and control projects and to power distribution projects
- Review technical documents, specifications and electrical drawings
- Give technical support to the production and manufacturing teams, and work with testing and commissioning staff to solve technical issues
- Help shape engineering solutions for infrastructure and industrial projects, applying the relevant Australian Standards and project requirements
- Collaborate with quality, production, engineering and project management teams
- Investigate technical problems, develop practical fixes, and contribute to engineering improvements and project optimisation
- Help deliver complex electrical infrastructure projects successfully
Requirements & Eligibility
- Switchboard Electrician:
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence as an Electrical Mechanic or Electrical Fitter
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or Electrical Fitting
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial switchboard manufacturing, testing or commissioning
- Strong hands-on experience with MCCs and LV switchboards
- Experience in fault finding, commissioning and electrical testing
- Knowledge of or experience with MV/HV equipment will be highly regarded
- Experience with industrial control systems is advantageous
- Able to read single line diagrams, wiring diagrams and schematics with confidence
- Knowledge of AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards
- Current CPR/LVR certification
- Strong focus on quality and electrical safety
- Able to work both on site and in the workshop, and willing to travel occasionally for commissioning and project needs
- HV/MV Electrical Engineer:
- Australian registration as an Electrical Engineer
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with HV and/or MV electrical systems
- Experience in power distribution, protection and control, substations, switchgear or switchboards
- Able to interpret engineering specifications and electrical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and technical analysis skills
- Understanding of the applicable Australian Standards
- Works well with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Able to work across project, testing, manufacturing and engineering settings
- Candidates currently holding a Subclass 482 visa are welcome to apply
