The salon helps experienced stylists grow their craft, build a strong group of loyal clients and move forward in their careers. There is advanced education, business support, and pathways into creative, education and management roles. Your current skills can be the starting point for your next step.
Tip: if your hairdressing certificate is in Indonesian, get an English translation where it is needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Join professional training and hair education, and keep learning new techniques, products and industry trends
- Cut and style hair to a professional level
- Do colour work that matches what each client asks for
- Talk with each client about their needs and give suitable professional advice
- Make sure every service is high quality and consistent, and take responsibility for your results
- Get to know new and returning clients and build a loyal personal clientele
- Keep your appointment book organised and productive
- Give every client a friendly, professional welcome and experience
- Keep the salon clean, hygienic and well presented, meeting workplace standards
- Work closely with the other stylists and salon staff, share what you know and help keep the team positive
Requirements & Eligibility
- Eligible candidates can get sponsorship, but applicants must meet the relevant requirements for sponsored employment in New Zealand
- You have at least 3 years of hands-on, professional cutting and colouring experience, and can deliver these services with confidence
- You hold an NZ Level 4 Hairdressing Certificate or a qualification recognised internationally as equivalent
- If your formal qualifications are different, relevant experience may be considered
- Your practical hairdressing skills are demonstrable and backed by genuine work experience
- You are strong at client consultations and interpersonal skills, and you can build trust and keep client relationships for the long term
- You take a professional attitude to customer service and your workplace duties
- You work well as part of a team
- You are willing to keep developing your technical and professional skills
- You can provide genuine evidence of your qualifications and past employment
