Do you work with stone and want a full-time trade job in Queensland? An employer is looking for an experienced Stonemason with solid skills in both fabrication and installation.
You will work on residential and construction projects. You take measurements and technical plans and turn them into finished pieces, such as benchtops, splashbacks and custom stone features.
What matters most is practical skill, care with small details and accurate, professional results every time. Keep your trade papers and job references ready, and get any Indonesian-language documents translated into English if the visa rules require it.
Key Responsibilities
- Read the technical drawings and project specs before any stonework starts
- Measure accurately and work out how much material is needed
- Cut, shape, polish and finish stone to each project's needs, and get components ready to install
- Fit stone benchtops, splashbacks and other architectural features
- Install fireplaces, barbecues and other custom stone work
- Check finished work for alignment, measurements, finish and overall quality, and solve any measuring, fabrication or installation problem that comes up
- Work with installation teams and other trades so project needs are coordinated
- Run and look after specialised stoneworking machines and hand tools, keeping all equipment in good working condition
- Use workplace health and safety procedures at every stage of the job
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised stonemasonry qualification or formal trade training
- A trade certificate in stonemasonry
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
- Hands-on experience in stone fabrication and installation that you can demonstrate
- Strong skill in reading technical drawings and specifications
- Competent with professional equipment for cutting, shaping and finishing stone
- Proven care for precision, measurements and finishing quality, with practical problem-solving in fabrication and installation settings
- Able to work independently and also contribute well to a team
- Good physical capacity to handle and install stone materials
- Committed to safe work practices and professional workmanship
- Able to provide supporting evidence of your qualifications and relevant employment experience
