The job covers many kinds of vehicle refinishing, from small repairs to larger restoration and accident-damage jobs. You need the confidence to handle each type well.
Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas applicants. Prepare an English-language CV that shows your trade qualification and the paint systems you have used.
Key Responsibilities
- Look at each surface and decide how it should be prepared
- Prepare vehicle surfaces and panels for refinishing by sanding, masking and priming
- Mix automotive paint and clear coats and apply them
- Do paint repairs of every size, small or large
- Match colours accurately and give every job a consistent finish
- Use automotive spray painting equipment safely, along with Glasurit paint products and systems
- Check finished work for imperfections and defects, and fix finishing problems where required
- Keep the workshop and equipment clean and in good condition
- Work closely with the rest of the repair team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified Automotive Spray Painter
- Relevant hands-on experience in vehicle repair
- Competent with both large-scale and small repairs
- Strong understanding of automotive refinishing techniques, and experience with professional paint systems
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- A professional, positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team
- Flexible about what the workshop needs
- Very reliable, with strong personal responsibility
