Are you a passionate chef ready for the next step? A well-established hospitality venue in New South Wales has an exciting full-time job for an experienced Sous Chef. The kitchen team is professional and supportive, and there is room for career growth.
You will work side by side with the Head Chef on quality café meals and event dining. Your focus is great food, an efficient kitchen and strong food safety. The venue is open mainly during the day, with functions and events from time to time, so you can enjoy an excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop menus together with the Head Chef
- Cook and plate quality meals that follow the recipes and presentation standards, and keep prep and presentation the same every time
- Help run the café and cater for functions
- Change dishes to suit dietary needs and what customers prefer
- Check stock levels, help manage inventory and reduce food waste with good kitchen habits
- Keep food quality, hygiene and cleanliness high, and follow HACCP principles and food safety procedures at all times
- Meet workplace health and safety requirements
- Work well with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, and keep the kitchen efficient in busy periods
- Help create a positive and professional team atmosphere
Requirements & Eligibility
- Diploma of Hospitality or higher qualification
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen, including previous work under the supervision of a Head Chef
- Strong knowledge of HACCP procedures, food safety and hygiene
- Experience in food preparation and planning menus
- Can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and keep food quality high and consistent
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong time management and organisational abilities
- Willing to work weekends and additional hours in peak periods
