Sheetmetal Tradesperson/CNC Operator

Do you run CNC machines or work as a sheet metal tradesperson? An established sheet metal manufacturer in Auckland, New Zealand wants CNC Operators with practical skills that can be verified.
The production floor is well organised. The employer is looking for experienced people who understand precision work, take ownership of what they make and meet production and quality targets every day.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up equipment for scheduled jobs and run CNC punch, laser, tube laser and press brake machines
- Follow technical drawings and production specifications
- Measure and check parts during every step of manufacturing, so quality stays accurate and consistent
- Find production problems and fix them where appropriate
- Use safe operating procedures and meet workplace requirements
- Keep the production area clean, tidy and organised
- Work with your production teammates to reach daily targets
- Use your trade knowledge to get better manufacturing results, and support continuous improvement in production processes
- Share ideas for doing tasks in safer, faster and more effective ways
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC machines
- Has used press brake, tube laser, laser or punch machinery
- Trumpf experience is highly desirable
- 2+ years of relevant sheet metal trades experience may also be considered
- Technical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing that you can demonstrate
- Strong focus on precise, first-time-right workmanship
- Can follow production specifications and technical instructions
- Committed to quality standards and safety at work, and works well in a production team
- Willing to share practical ideas to improve processes
- Available for fixed day, night or graveyard shifts, and able to work at least 40 hours per week
