Senior Hairdressers

Trade · Takanini, Auckland, New Zealand · Full-Time · $28 - $35/hr

Are you an experienced hairdresser ready for your next step in New Zealand? A growing salon team in Takanini, Auckland is looking for 2 Senior Hairdressers.

These roles suit stylists with strong technical skills, confidence with clients and a real love of quality hair work. You will do a wide range of cutting, colouring and styling services. You will also join a team that is supportive and professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talk with each client to learn what their hair needs are
  • Cut ladies' and children's hair to a high standard, and finish with professional blow waves and styles
  • Apply global colour and regrowth colour
  • Do foils, highlights and balayage
  • Provide toning and colour correction
  • Carry out hair treatments and smoothing services, and suggest suitable haircare products and treatments
  • Keep technical and service standards high from the start to the end of every appointment
  • Build friendly, professional relationships with clients
  • Handle your services confidently with little supervision, and help develop and mentor junior team members
  • Take part in demonstrations, workshops and hands-on training when required
  • Keep your workspace clean, tidy and professional, and follow salon procedures, hygiene rules and workplace standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • You hold a recognised hairdressing qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 or higher
  • You have a minimum 2 years of professional industry experience
  • You have strong hands-on skills in cutting, colouring, foiling and styling, plus experience with balayage, highlights, toning and colour correction
  • You feel confident working independently in a professional salon
  • You have strong consultation and communication skills with clients, and excellent customer service
  • You are reliable, professional and committed to your work
  • You are available to work weekends when required
  • Beauty therapy skills or previous experience in the beauty industry is advantageous
  • Experience mentoring junior stylists or running practical training is advantageous
  • You can clearly list the services you are confident to perform, and say honestly where extra training or development may be required
  • You are willing to meet New Zealand employment and visa requirements
  • Sponsorship is available for eligible overseas candidates
