Are you a skilled hair stylist with big plans? A salon in South Melbourne, Victoria, is looking for an accomplished Senior Hair Stylist who wants to build a future in the Australian hair industry.
The salon is established and still growing. You will work next to experienced professionals and look after clients from the first chat to the final look. Technical skill, warm client care and pride in high-quality results every time all matter here.
Checks come first. Your identity, experience and skills will be verified, and the aim is to help you present your background with confidence. Hair extension skills are a real plus, but strong senior-level hairdressing experience matters most.
Prepare an English-language CV, and get any Indonesian-language documents translated into English if the visa rules ask for it.
Key Responsibilities
- Talk with each client in detail to understand what their hair needs
- Provide professional hairdressing and styling services
- Cut, colour and style hair, and carry out other salon services
- Produce polished results that stay consistent and meet professional standards
- Offer hair extension services if you have the qualifications or experience
- Suggest suitable hair care, styling and maintenance options
- Give clients a warm, professional welcome and build lasting relationships with them
- Win repeat visits through quality service and professional communication
- Present yourself well and keep the salon's professional image high
- Work as a team with other stylists and salon staff, and help keep the salon culture positive and productive
- Keep your workstation clean, tidy and hygienic, and follow salon procedures and health and safety rules
- Keep up with the latest hair trends, techniques and industry news
- Join professional training and keep developing your skills
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant hairdressing qualification or recognised training from the industry
- Proven work history as a Senior Hair Stylist or experienced professional hairdresser, with a salon background you can demonstrate
- Able to verify your professional identity, qualifications and relevant work history, and willing to take part in the required verification process
- In-depth technical knowledge of modern hairdressing methods
- Confidence in client consultations and good people skills
- Sharp attention to detail
- A real commitment to quality and to keeping customers satisfied
- A passion for hair and for building your skills over time
- A professional, reliable and motivated attitude, with the ability to work well alone or in a team
- Knowledge of salon hygiene, safety and professional standards
- Experience with hair extensions is highly regarded
- A suitable and eligible candidate can be offered sponsorship
