Senior Electrical Engineer

Are you an electrical engineer with rail experience? A verified Australian employer in Newstead, Brisbane is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer. You will help deliver complex rolling stock engineering projects across Queensland.
The role suits someone with a strong background in rail vehicle electrical systems, fleet upgrades and engineering assurance. You will work closely with engineering specialists and project teams. Together you will review technical solutions and oversee major modification programs. Every stage of delivery must meet strict safety, quality and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead on rolling stock projects that involve electrical engineering
- Make sure the electrical engineering requirements are met from the start of delivery to the end
- Check engineering designs, technical submissions and overhaul documents
- Plan engineering tasks together with contractors, technical specialists and project managers
- Help run programs that modify and refurbish the fleet and make it more reliable
- Do inspections, tests, commissioning and acceptance work
- Prepare procedures, technical reports, scopes of work and engineering specifications
- Find out why equipment fails and give practical engineering answers
- Track compliance, engineering quality and project performance
- Work alongside suppliers, maintenance teams and operational stakeholders, and back continuous improvement that makes assets safer and more reliable
- Explain complex technical information clearly to many types of stakeholders
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive electrical engineering experience on rail vehicles or rolling stock
- Strong knowledge of modifications to electrical systems, upgrades and overhaul programs
- You have led testing, commissioning and engineering investigations
- You can write scopes of work, engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, plus strong stakeholder management and communication
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
