Scaffolding is hard, physical work, and good crews are always needed. A growing team in Perth is looking for skilled, dependable scaffolding workers.
There are two kinds of openings. Experienced Scaffolders can apply, and so can people who want to start out as a Scaffold Labourer. Either way, the team will look at your hands-on skills, your tickets and how reliable you are. You also need to take site safety seriously and fit into a professional crew.
Suitable workers can get 40–60 hours of work per week, ongoing work and attractive overtime conditions. Tip: list every ticket you hold, with its number and expiry date, on your English-language CV.
Key Responsibilities
- Put up, change and take down scaffolding by following the approved procedures
- Do scaffolding jobs on construction sites in a safe and efficient way, and keep quality and safety high on every task you are given
- Inspect scaffold parts and gear before you use them and while they are in use
- Work safely at height, always using the right fall protection and personal protective equipment
- Understand what the site needs, and follow what your supervisor tells you
- Cooperate with your scaffold crew and other workers on site
- Notice hazards or unsafe scaffolds and report them straight away
- Keep tools, gear and your work area in order
Requirements & Eligibility
- Scaffolders: a current White Card, a current Working at Heights ticket and a current Scaffolding ticket/licence
- Scaffolders: relevant practical scaffolding experience, and able to show your trade skills in action
- Scaffolders: a strong commitment to safety at work, and physically capable of doing scaffolding duties
- Scaffolders: reliable attendance, a professional attitude to work and able to work well in a team
- Scaffold Labourers: a current White Card
- Scaffold Labourers: a Working at Heights ticket is preferred; candidates without a Working at Heights ticket may do ground-level duties only
- Scaffold Labourers: experience in construction or labouring is advantageous
- Scaffold Labourers: good physical fitness and able to do manual work
- Scaffold Labourers: punctual, reliable and with a strong work ethic
- Scaffold Labourers: willing to learn and build scaffolding skills
- Scaffold Labourers: able to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Scaffold Labourers: a positive attitude that is focused on the team
