Sales And Bakery Operations Manager

Can you lead a team and look after customers at the same time? A busy bakery in Taupo is looking for a practical, dependable operations leader. You will bring proven experience in leadership, customer service and business.
This job is more than supervising staff. You will help keep each day organised, protect the bakery's standards and help the business perform well commercially. The right person has a work history that shows ownership, confidence with people and steady results in a fast-paced food service setting.
Tip: if a police certificate is requested, you can apply for an SKCK from the Indonesian National Police.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example and stay hands-on when the bakery gets busy
- Make sure daily bakery operations run smoothly, handling staffing and day-to-day operational needs
- Organise and support the team during each shift
- Train and coach staff so service stays consistent
- Give customers a great experience and help lift sales
- Watch stock levels, ordering needs and product wastage
- Keep food safety, hygiene and operating standards high
- Look for practical ways to improve sales, efficiency and customer satisfaction, and support ongoing improvements across the bakery
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven ability to lead, supervise or support a team
- Demonstrated experience in retail, hospitality, food service or a management setting
- Strong communication and people skills
- Focused on customers, with an understanding of sales and business performance
- Reliable and organised, and comfortable taking responsibility
- A hands-on way of dealing with daily operational challenges, and able to stay effective in a busy, fast-moving workplace
- Having worked in a bakery before will be advantageous
- Able to provide evidence of your relevant work experience and skills
- Must satisfy the applicable New Zealand immigration and visa requirements
