Want to build a future in clean energy? A growing renewable energy business in NSW, working from Smithfield in Sydney, needs a practical, motivated Solar Installation Technician for its commercial and industrial projects.
You do not need to have worked in solar before. Construction and installation experience can count too. What matters is that you can show real hands-on skills, relevant experience and a good understanding of how to work safely. Your practical ability will be checked against what the role needs.
You will join an experienced crew, help deliver solar installations and get the chance to grow your technical skills in renewable energy.
Prepare an English-language CV that describes the tools you use and the sites you have worked on.
Key Responsibilities
- Help the team install solar systems on commercial and industrial projects
- Fit solar panels and their mounting frames under supervision
- Use hand tools and simple power tools in the right way
- Carry and move materials, equipment and parts safely
- Read technical drawings, manuals and installation instructions and follow them
- Help with daily installation work, including getting the site ready, setting up and cleaning up
- Keep your work area tidy and free of hazards, following the set health and safety procedures
- Work well with installers, supervisors and other people on site
- Do every task you are given carefully and to a good standard
- Work on your own when needed, and travel to other states for projects when necessary
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on experience in solar, construction, electrical support or installation work that is relevant to the job
- Previous solar installation experience is advantageous but not essential
- Can prove your practical skills and genuine work history
- Able to understand technical drawings, manuals and work instructions
- Good at solving problems and thinking practically
- Dependable, motivated and committed to the job, with safety always a top priority
- Works well both alone and in a team
- Willing to travel interstate when required
- An Australian Driver Licence, your own vehicle and reliable transport
- Construction White Card, or willing to obtain one
- Height Safety ticket, or willing to obtain one
- A real interest in a long-term career in renewable energy; sponsorship available for the right candidate
