Restaurant Manager

Do you enjoy leading people in a busy restaurant? An established hospitality business in Queensland wants a capable Restaurant Manager. You should have real experience leading teams, running service and keeping standards high when the restaurant is full.

This is a hands-on job. Good restaurant management is more than just service. You will look after people, performance, organisation and the whole guest experience, and you will work closely with the kitchen and the wider management team.

You will need to show your background with work history that can be verified and relevant qualifications. The focus is on genuine skills and real responsibilities. Tip: keep your reference letters and certificates ready, translated into English where the visa rules require it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the restaurant's daily operation and be a role model for professional hospitality
  • Supervise front-of-house staff and make expectations for service and work performance clear
  • Train the team and help them grow so standards stay the same every day
  • Write the staff roster, plan staffing needs and watch labour use and efficiency
  • Help the floor team and the kitchen work together without problems
  • Look after guests across breakfast, lunch and dinner, and deal with their questions, feedback and complaints
  • Handle bookings and reservation enquiries
  • Keep an eye on stock, inventory and restaurant records
  • Give input on menu development, seasonal changes and better ways of working
  • Keep the restaurant clean and well presented, and check food safety, licensing, WH&S and workplace compliance
  • Work with management to improve processes and team performance

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum two years of relevant full-time restaurant management experience and/or a relevant diploma
  • Demonstrated experience being responsible for running a restaurant
  • Employment history related to this position that can be verified, with supporting evidence of your past professional experience
  • Strong leadership and skills in managing staff
  • Confident when speaking and writing
  • Good time-management and organisational skills, and stays organised and effective in busy service
  • Rostering and workforce coordination experience, and an understanding of labour costs and controlling restaurant costs
  • Strong skills in customer service and in resolving conflict
  • A professional, reliable and accountable way of working
  • Real interest in running hospitality operations and developing a team
  • Can keep service, presentation and cleanliness standards consistent
