Restaurant manager

A great restaurant manager does more than run a service. They build a place where guests want to return and where the team feels confident. A quality hospitality venue in Indooroopilly, Brisbane wants an experienced Restaurant Manager to be a highly visible leader on the floor.
You will set the tone each night, connect with guests, support and motivate the front-of-house team, and find practical ways to improve the guest experience and revenue. The target: help grow restaurant sales by about 15–20% within the first three months.
Hours are steady evenings, 4:00pm to 9:30pm, with no early starts or split shifts. Depending on experience and performance, you may be able to move into a full-time position. Excellent spoken English matters here, so keep practising your conversation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Run front-of-house so evening service flows well
- Keep customer service standards high every night, along with presentation and service standards across the venue
- Be easy to see and easy to talk to during the whole service
- Greet each guest warmly so the first impression is a good one
- Get to know regular guests, build real relationships and encourage loyalty and repeat visits
- Create a lively, friendly atmosphere that makes guests want to come back
- Coach, lead and motivate front-of-house staff, and set a good example with professional, hands-on leadership
- Look for ways to improve each step of the customer journey, as well as service and operations
- Use suitable upselling to raise customer spending and help reach the 15–20% sales increase target
- Read customer feedback and handle concerns in a professional way
- Help staff take ownership of customer satisfaction, and support an energetic, positive and performance-focused team culture
- Show initiative and act on chances without needing constant supervision
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a senior hospitality management role
- Strong background in hospitality operations that face customers
- Warm, friendly and approachable by nature
- Confident and engaging when you communicate, with excellent spoken English
- Professional personal presentation
- Good at building relationships with customers and truly enjoys talking with them
- Can remember what customers like and build repeat relationships
- Demonstrated skills in leading and managing a team
- Commercial awareness, an understanding of restaurant sales and confidence with upselling to increase average customer spend
- A hands-on style of restaurant management
- Works well in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and initiative
- Available to work from 4:00pm to 9:30pm
- Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship, and able to meet applicable Australian immigration and sponsorship requirements
