Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based nursing of a high standard to every resident
- Assess and monitor each resident, and respond fast if their health changes
- Handle medicines and clinical treatments with safety and accuracy
- Create personal care plans, put them into action and review them
- Act as a leader, supervisor and mentor for nursing and personal care staff, and support Graduate Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Care Workers day to day
- Team up with residents' families, medical practitioners and allied health staff
- Document clinical care and resident information correctly
- Champion best practice in clinical governance and infection prevention, and keep the facility compliant with aged care standards and professional nursing requirements
- Play a part in quality improvement initiatives around the facility
- Complete mandatory training and keep learning through ongoing education
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold a Bachelor of Nursing qualification
- You hold current unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- Your First Aid and CPR certificates are current
- Previous residential aged care experience is highly regarded
- You can assess patients clinically and plan their care with strong skill
- You know Australian aged care standards and infection control practices
- You communicate, lead and work in a team excellently, and you are committed to ethical, compassionate care focused on residents
- You have a current National Police Check or are willing to get one, plus current COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations in line with what the employer requires
