Key Responsibilities
- Give safe, respectful nursing care that fits each resident
- Check and monitor residents' health, and respond when care needs change
- Coordinate and oversee clinical care on your shifts, prioritising tasks and managing clinical duties well
- Protect residents' dignity and comfort and support their quality of life
- Guide and lead care staff at ward level, and mentor team members to help them develop
- Work as one team with other nurses, carers and healthcare professionals
- Keep clinical records and documents accurate
- Use the right aged care clinical practices and procedures, including your knowledge of AN-ACC
- Care for residents who need palliative and end-of-life support
- Speak professionally with residents, their families and colleagues, and help keep care and service quality high
- Work a rotating pattern of morning, afternoon and night shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
- A recognised nursing qualification that is suitable for practice in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in aged care or a similar clinical setting
- Knowledge of, or experience in, palliative care
- Working knowledge of AN-ACC
- Demonstrated experience in leadership or team mentoring
- Strong written and verbal communication, plus excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Committed to person-centred care
- Confident working alone and as part of a team
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate and current Australian driver's licence
- Able to obtain or satisfy National Police Check requirements
- International applicants must meet Australian nursing registration requirements, and must satisfy applicable employer sponsorship and visa criteria
- Willing to work a rotating roster with all shift types
