Are you a mining leader with strong underground experience? A major underground hard rock mining operation in Brisbane QLD needs an experienced Project Manager to lead it.
You will report to the Operations Manager. Your work covers safety, production, money matters, client relationships, operating standards and growing the workforce. The right person has proven leadership on site, good business sense and can run complex activities. Clear, practical decisions will keep the project running well.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep the site within mining laws, company policies and safety systems
- Show visible leadership and build a strong safety culture across the whole operation, with a positive workplace where teamwork and continuous improvement matter
- Run all underground mining work, both development and production
- Reach operational targets in a safe and efficient way, within budget
- Handle project budgets, forecasts, cost control and financial results
- Watch how the operation performs, start continuous improvement initiatives and push for excellence in safety, productivity and quality
- Use mining equipment and operational resources well to get the most productivity
- Build, mentor and develop strong leadership and site teams, and look after workforce planning, recruitment and succession planning
- Keep good relationships with the client through clear communication and working together
- Spot operational risks and put practical plans in place to reduce them
- Look after contract administration, reporting and performance monitoring
Requirements & Eligibility
- Able to relocate internationally
- Extensive experience in underground hard rock mining operations, including both underground development and production environments
- A Mining Engineering qualification or another relevant tertiary qualification
- Previous work in a senior mining site leadership or project management role, plus experience in project management and operational reporting
- Strong experience managing underground mining contracts and client relationships
- Proven skills in budgeting, financial management and commercial decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong knowledge of underground mining safety systems and compliance requirements
- Mining leadership experience from previous international roles will be highly regarded
- A Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded
- An Underground Supervisor's Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded
- Experience with mining management software will be advantageous
