Project Engineer

Do you have engineering experience on big building sites? An established contractor needs a capable Project Engineer for major Australian construction projects in Sydney.
Hiring is based on skills, qualifications and project experience that can be checked. The contractor wants someone with a strong background in structural construction who can help deliver high-rise buildings with confidence. Experience in formwork, concrete structures, construction coordination and project delivery is especially useful.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the daily engineering and construction work on large building projects, supporting senior project staff with delivery and coordination
- Plan formwork and concrete structural works and keep track of them
- Organise construction crews, suppliers and subcontractors
- Check engineering documents, specifications and drawings
- Help with construction planning, sequencing and programming
- Compare progress with key milestones and the project schedule
- Support project reporting and contract administration, and keep documents, records and progress reports up to date
- Handle technical questions between subcontractors, engineers and consultants
- Spot problems on site, help find practical technical answers and check that quality meets project requirements
- Keep communication clear between the site and project stakeholders
- Help the works finish on time, safely and efficiently
Requirements & Eligibility
- A degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
- 2–5+ years of relevant construction experience after graduation (post-graduate)
- Proven work with concrete structures and formwork
- Experience on large-scale building, commercial or high-rise projects
- Has worked for a construction subcontractor
- Understands work sequencing and construction programming, and has experience with contract administration
- Strong ability to coordinate and manage subcontractors
- Good organisational, communication and technical skills
- Can demonstrate and verify relevant professional experience and qualifications
- Relevant construction experience from overseas is welcomed, and you are able to satisfy Australian employment and sponsorship requirements
