Here, your job title is less important than what you can prove. The employer looks for the right engineering qualifications, real site experience and good project coordination skills. Engineers in this team are trusted to own their work.
Your work will be varied. You coordinate contractors, manage interfaces between packages and fix problems before they slow delivery. Practical judgement counts as much as technical knowledge. Work sponsorship is available for suitably qualified international professionals. Get your degree and work references translated into English if the visa rules require it.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of the construction tasks assigned to you and their outcomes
- Keep specialist trades, suppliers and subcontractors coordinated
- Manage what happens on site each day and monitor how the build is progressing
- Support cost control, programming and scheduling
- Coordinate the points where marine, public realm, civil and structural construction meet
- Supervise specialist work like revetments, piling and fender systems
- Look after landscaping, drainage and related civil construction
- Review what each part of the build needs and suggest practical solutions, plus ways to improve efficiency, constructability and project results
- Maintain inspection records, HIRACs, ITPs and other quality paperwork
- Monitor compliance with environmental, safety and quality requirements
- Stay in contact with consultants, contractors, clients and other relevant stakeholders
- Mentor junior and graduate engineering staff
- Keep project records accurate and report on progress
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or a recognised equivalent qualification
- For Project Engineer level: 2–4 years working in marine or civil construction
- For Senior Project Engineer positions: relevant experience at senior level in project delivery and construction
- Previous engineering experience on site is preferred
- Has coordinated construction teams and subcontractors, and can demonstrate it
- Knows quality assurance, cost management and how to schedule a project
- Communicates clearly and manages stakeholders well
- Organised, with good documentation habits
- Can understand what the construction requires and sort out practical issues on site
- Takes safety at work and quality standards seriously, with a strong commitment
- Proactive and ready to own responsibilities
- Works effectively in multidisciplinary construction teams
- Has a genuine interest in community-focused projects and major infrastructure
