Are you an experienced poultry professional who is ready to lead? A commercial broiler farm in New South Wales needs a Poultry Farm Manager. It is a genuine Australian farming role, matched to people with the right hands-on skills, leadership and poultry industry experience.
You will look after the full production cycle and lead the farm team. Experienced operational and technical staff will work with you. Key Responsibilities
- Run the whole broiler production cycle, from bird placement until collection
- Lead the farm team to meet daily production needs, write staff rosters and give each person clear duties
- Check bird health, welfare and growth, and watch how the flock performs overall
- Manage feed, water, ventilation and conditions inside the sheds
- Follow production results using farm management systems and data, and take corrective action when needed
- Keep strong biosecurity in place across the farm, and make sure animal welfare and workplace health and safety standards are always followed
- Organise shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround
- Oversee maintenance of the feeding, drinking, ventilation and generator systems, find equipment or operational faults and arrange suitable repairs
- Keep farm, production and compliance records accurate
- Work with veterinarians, technical specialists and processor representatives, and give senior management clear updates and performance reports
- Take part in after-hours and on-call duties, and help improve farm operations over time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in commercial broiler poultry
- Past work as a Poultry Farm Manager or as an experienced 2IC
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a farm team
- Strong practical knowledge of flock management and poultry production
- Know-how in ventilation systems and climate-control systems
- Understanding of what poultry biosecurity and welfare require
- Able to use production data to monitor results and make practical operational decisions
- Good communication, organisation and record-keeping skills, and able to work with computers and relevant farm management systems
- A calm, reliable way of handling operational challenges
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to live on site
- Available to be part of an after-hours and on-call roster
- Genuine commitment to animal welfare, production standards and workplace safety
