Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation and maintenance work for homes and commercial buildings, always to a professional standard
  • Fit fixtures, sanitary plumbing, and systems for both hot water and cold water
  • Install pipes, valves, pumps and the controls that run plumbing systems, and keep them in good order
  • Handle hydronic and underfloor heating pipework and components, and support HVAC-related plumbing on technical heating jobs
  • Fit, swap out and commission heat pump water heaters and hot water cylinders
  • Study drawings, specifications and building plans, then measure, prep and assemble pipe sections with proper trade methods
  • Run pressure testing, then commission systems and confirm they perform correctly
  • Track down faults, repair them and come up with plumbing fixes that work
  • Keep sites tidy and professional, stick to health and safety rules, and take care of company tools, gear and resources
  • Cooperate with builders, technicians and the other trades on site

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Holds a recognised plumbing qualification, with experience relevant to the industry
  • Holds New Zealand plumbing registration or is eligible to achieve registration
  • At minimum, three years' experience installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing, with a proven record on residential and commercial projects
  • Exposure to HVAC plumbing, hydronic heating or underfloor heating systems is advantageous
  • Can interpret plans, technical drawings and what each project requires
  • Strong technical skills for solving problems, and careful attention to detail
  • Dedicated to reliable service and a high quality of workmanship
  • Communicates effectively and works well inside a professional team
  • Valid driver licence, or willing to obtain one
  • Can supply verified proof of qualifications, employment history and trade experience
  • Depending on eligibility requirements, suitable overseas candidates may be considered for AEWV sponsorship
