Key Responsibilities
- Make the dough, sauces, toppings and other pizza ingredients ready for service
- Cook pizzas that follow the set recipes and quality standards, using the same prep, cooking and plating methods each time
- Run commercial pizza ovens safely and keep them at the right temperature
- Plan your prep well before and during service so quality stays steady even when it gets very busy
- Follow food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Keep the pizza station clean, tidy and ready to go
- Measure portions carefully and avoid wasting food
- Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to keep service running, talking clearly and working as a team
- Handle dietary needs and special requests in the right way
- Help with general kitchen tasks when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated work as a Pizza Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role, with proven practical skill in making and cooking pizza
- Strong knowledge of making dough, toppings, sauces and producing pizzas
- Has used commercial pizza ovens, including wood-fired or gas-fired equipment
- Understands Australian-style food safety and hygiene expectations
- Can keep food quality the same under pressure, with strong attention to detail and presentation
- Works well in a professional kitchen team
- Dependable, flexible and professional at work
- Can give genuine evidence of relevant employment and industry experience
- Relevant hospitality or food-handling qualifications are advantageous
- Must satisfy applicable requirements for visa sponsorship where relevant
