Training happens on the job. Step by step, you will pick up piling, concrete work, steel fixing and how to use construction machines.
The way you work each day matters. Good performance, reliability, the right attitude and new skills can open the door to more. Show your ability and you may get bigger duties, a place in a senior crew and, later, the chance to lead crews and projects. Tip: collect reference letters from past employers in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Give a hand with foundations and piling on construction sites
- Assist the team with concrete work and steel fixing
- Pick up building methods through hands-on training while a supervisor guides you
- Help run construction machines in a safe way
- Stay close to supervisors and skilled crew members and do what site instructions, safety rules and quality standards ask
- Set up your tools and gear for the day and look after them
- Leave your area clean, safe and in order
- Arrive on time every day, perform steadily and grow your skills from ongoing time on site
- Accept new tasks as you improve, aiming for senior crew and team leadership duties
Requirements & Eligibility
- Fit and strong enough for manual construction work
- Dependable, with regular attendance
- Keen to gain new construction skills from people with experience, and happy to join in workplace training
- Understands instructions at work and carries them out
- Works well with others in a construction crew
- Previous labouring or construction experience is beneficial but not essential
- Experience with concreting, steel fixing, piling, or machinery is advantageous
- Can provide genuine evidence of past jobs or relevant experience where applicable
- Brings a good attitude and works hard
- Suitable candidates may be considered for sponsorship
