Pastry Chef/Bakery Assistant

Do you make cakes and pastries in a commercial bakery? A professional production bakery in New South Wales wants a Pastry Chef or Bakery Assistant.
You need real experience with cake and pastry prep, commercial bakery machines and food-production standards. The employer will check your background. Your skills, qualifications and work history should show that you can do a commercial bakery job with confidence.

Key Responsibilities
- Weigh and prepare ingredients for cakes, pastries and other baked goods
- Mix each batch accurately with commercial bakery equipment
- Run the mixers, ovens, dispensers and other production machines, and watch each bake so products stay consistent
- Keep production organised and moving efficiently
- Stick to set recipes, production steps and quality standards
- Apply food safety, hygiene, GMP and HACCP rules every day
- Keep your work area clean and hygienic during production, and clean and look after the bakery machines and equipment
- Lift, carry, push and pull materials and products of up to 25kg in a safe way
- Help the rest of the bakery team reach production targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Currently residing in Australia
- Hands-on experience in a commercial bakery, pastry kitchen or food-production setting
- Demonstrated ability to make bakery or pastry products
- A relevant qualification in baking or food production is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene in a commercial setting, and an understanding of GMP and HACCP principles
- Able to use bakery equipment in a safe, efficient way
- Strong focus on quality and consistency in every product
- Able to work well in a team that is focused on production
- Physically able to handle loads of up to 25kg
- Able to show evidence of your relevant qualifications and work experience
