Key Responsibilities
- Look over vehicles to judge accident and body damage
- Choose suitable methods to repair and restore each vehicle
- Strip off damaged panels, components and body parts
- Fix panels, or fit new ones where required
- Straighten and align the body structure and bring it back to its proper shape
- Carry out welding and other metalwork
- Operate specialist panel tools and workshop gear
- Coordinate with mechanics and spray painters to complete each repair
- Inspect your work to check it is accurate, safe and well finished
- Keep the workshop clean, tidy and safe, in line with every relevant workplace health and safety procedure
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of panel beating experience that is relevant
- Strong hands-on understanding of automotive body repair techniques
- Has used professional panel beating and repair equipment
- Can recognise damage and pick suitable repair methods
- Detail-focused, with a strong commitment to quality
- Communicates well, works as part of a team and keeps to workshop timeframes efficiently
- Valid driver's licence
- Verifiable qualification and work history
- Under the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 pathway, a suitable international candidate may be sponsored
