Motorcycle Mechanic

Are you a hands-on motorcycle technician? An established dealership in Queensland is looking for a skilled Motorcycle Mechanic. In this job you will service bikes, find faults, carry out mechanical repairs and test each bike once the work is done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Look over motorcycles to find worn parts, faults and upcoming maintenance
  • Use testing and diagnostic tools to track down mechanical and electrical problems
  • Service bikes and do preventative maintenance to the manufacturer's requirements, including engine servicing, oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups
  • Take apart, check and rebuild engines and other mechanical assemblies
  • Fix or replace worn and faulty mechanical parts
  • Repair and service brakes, suspension, steering and transmission systems
  • Follow technical manuals and manufacturer procedures during repair work
  • Test and adjust each bike after repairs to make sure it performs properly
  • Explain what repairs are needed and pass on the key technical details
  • Record all repairs, services and parts used accurately
  • Keep the workshop organised and in line with workplace safety requirements
  • Help out with urgent repairs and breakdown jobs when needed

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A relevant qualification in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent trade qualification
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in the industry, including hands-on motorcycle servicing and repair work that you can demonstrate
  • Strong skills in mechanical diagnosis and fault-finding
  • Knowledge of motorcycle engine, electrical, braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
  • Able to use motorcycle diagnostic and workshop equipment
  • Able to read and follow technical manuals and manufacturer specifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to accurate, quality work
  • Able to give evidence of your relevant qualifications and work history
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures in the workshop
  • Can work well on your own and as part of a professional team
