Do you have solid experience running a motel, hotel or other accommodation? A motel in San Remo, Victoria needs a manager to look after its daily performance.
In this job you lead the staff, take care of guests, keep the property in good shape and watch the business results. The employer wants someone who mixes hands-on hospitality skills with good leadership and a sense for business. The goal is simple: the property runs smoothly and every guest has a good stay.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep an eye on occupancy, bookings, revenue and how the business is doing overall
- Run the motel every day and bring the front office, housekeeping, maintenance and guest service work together
- Train, roster, supervise and lead the motel team, and make the workplace positive and professional
- Set high standards for cleanliness, presentation and guest service, and keep them there
- Handle guest questions, complaints and day-to-day problems quickly
- Help with budgets, financial controls and cost management, and look for practical ways to make the motel more profitable and efficient
- Arrange maintenance, repairs and improvements to the building and its facilities
- Work with suppliers, contractors and service providers and keep those relationships strong
- Plan ideas that bring in more bookings, happier guests and more visibility for the business
- Keep financial, operational and guest records accurate, and follow workplace, health, safety, hygiene and hospitality rules
- Speak for the motel with local businesses and tourism organisations, and keep checking operations so you can improve them when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Must satisfy the applicable Australian employment and employer sponsorship requirements
- Demonstrated management experience in a motel, hotel or other accommodation business
- A hospitality operations and management background that can be verified
- Proven ability to train, lead and manage a hospitality team, with a strong understanding of accommodation operations and guest service
- Experience with budgeting, cost control and revenue monitoring
- Experience using point-of-sale software and hotel management systems
- Strong conflict-resolution and customer service skills, plus strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of operational matters and make decisions on your own
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy hospitality environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, public holidays and weekends included
- Relevant hospitality qualifications are advantageous
- Fluent Mandarin or other additional language skills will be highly regarded
- Ability to provide genuine employment history, qualifications and professional references so they can be verified
