Maintenance Fitter

Already living in Australia and working as a fitter? An established Melbourne manufacturer wants a Maintenance Fitter who has done genuine hands-on mechanical maintenance and holds matching qualifications.
You will need to show your trade background and your maintenance work in Australia. You also need to show you can work safely where production is running.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair the plant's mechanical production equipment, including conveyors and their mechanical parts
- Find the cause of equipment faults and fix them mechanically
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, and inspect machines for damage, wear and early signs of failure
- Respond fast when something breaks down and restore operation
- Handle pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- Use CMMS for maintenance tasks and keep a record of every repair and service you complete
- Coordinate with the production team during maintenance
- Contribute to maintenance and engineering improvements
- Meet workplace safety requirements so all equipment stays safe to operate
- Keep production running smoothly and continuously
Requirements & Eligibility
- Essential: Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- Essential: at least 1 year of Australian maintenance experience
- Demonstrated experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
- Highly regarded: a background in FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong at mechanical troubleshooting, able to identify equipment faults and resolve them
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance practices
- Has shown a real commitment to safety in the workplace
- Professional, dependable employment history
- Can supply evidence of relevant experience and qualifications
- Currently residing in Australia, and willing to relocate within NSW
- Eligible candidates must satisfy applicable 482 sponsorship requirements
