Machine Operator

Trade · Wanaka, Otago, New Zealand · Full-Time · $70,000/yr

Machines are your thing? Here is a production job in Wanaka, Otago, New Zealand, where proven skills can lead to specialist work. The employer runs a packaging operation and wants an experienced Machine Operator who knows industrial equipment and keeps output on track.

Practical ability is what counts. Be ready to prove past work running machinery, adjusting it, diagnosing faults and holding production to a consistent standard. New equipment is arriving and the site is adding automation.

Tip: gather evidence of your machinery work, translated into English if the visa rules require it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the packaging and production machinery in a safe, efficient way

  • Handle regular cleaning, lubrication and simple maintenance
  • Record production details and complete the operational documents required
  • Stick to quality, food safety and health and safety rules at work
  • Lend a hand with kegging, packaging, warehousing and shifting finished goods
  • Assist as new machines are installed and commissioned, and with testing and fine-tuning automated equipment
  • Suggest changes that mean fewer stoppages and better machine output
  • Help production flow without interruption
  • Take responsibility for how your assigned equipment runs and the condition it is in

  • Can supply evidence that backs up relevant production and machinery experience
  • Willingness to move to Otago and build a long-term New Zealand career
