Landscaper

Darwin-based landscape construction work is on offer for a skilled Commercial Landscaper. You will join a professional team working on ongoing projects across the Northern Territory.
The work is broad. Expect excavation and site preparation, drainage and irrigation, paving and retaining structures, plus turfing, planting and general hard and soft landscaping. The team wants an experienced tradesperson who can show real landscaping skill and who owns the quality of their work, from the first dig to the final finish.
The employer is most interested in people whose experience, qualifications and practical skills can be verified, and who want a genuine long-term job.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sites, including excavation and groundworks
- Set out and level accurately, and get bases ready
- Lay turf, plants, mulch and other softscape features
- Build paving, edging, minor concrete elements, retaining walls and other landscape structures
- Put in drainage and irrigation systems
- Run plant, machinery and landscaping equipment safely
- Take on general commercial landscape construction tasks, with consistent quality and attention to detail
- Keep your tools, gear and work area clean and organised, and follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Work at a good pace to hit project schedules and construction targets
- Talk clearly with supervisors and teammates; work alone when required and still support the wider team
- Keep professional standards on every commercial worksite
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years' proven experience in landscape construction
- Strong practical knowledge of how commercial landscaping is done, and able to show genuine hands-on landscaping experience
- A relevant formal landscaping qualification is advantageous
- Reliable, punctual and committed to your job
- Strong focus on safety at work and quality workmanship
- Current full driver's licence is essential
- Own reliable transport is essential
- An MR driver's licence is advantageous
- Current White Card is essential
- Permanent Australian work rights are preferred
- Temporary residents need not apply
- Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants
- Working with Children Card (OCHRE), or willing to obtain one
- DCAC for Robertson Barracks is advantageous
- Physically able to do outdoor landscape construction work
- Able to work well in a team or independently, and willing to commit to a stable, long-term role
