Industrial Blaster & Painter

Good coating work begins long before the paint goes on. A growing industrial coatings business in Western Australia needs an experienced Blaster Painter who knows this well.
You must be able to show real skill in abrasive blasting, preparing surfaces and applying protective coatings. Careful work, proven experience and a strong focus on safety matter most. The business is established and offers steady full-time hours, professional blasting and coating gear, and a team culture built on commitment, integrity, safety and reliable performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Use abrasive blasting on a wide range of industrial products and surfaces
- Bring every surface up to the required specification before coating, and confirm it is suitable to coat
- Put on epoxy, urethane and other protective coating systems, checking as you go for even coverage and a consistent finish
- Get the blasting and painting gear set up properly, and run blast pots, compressors, spray equipment and the tools that go with them
- Spot issues with surfaces, coatings or equipment and report them properly
- Look after the blasting and coating equipment by cleaning, inspecting and maintaining it
- Deliver each project to the required quality and on time, working accurately and consistently
- Work within Australian Standards, industry requirements and site safety procedures
- Cooperate with supervisors and fellow tradespeople
- Leave your work area clean, safe and organised
- Be available for occasional night or weekend work when required, with penalty rates applicable
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years' genuine abrasive blasting experience, gained hands-on
- A track record in industrial blasting and protective coating work that you can demonstrate
- Has applied industrial protective coatings in practice
- Proven at quality surface preparation
- Knows the blasting, prep and coating process well
- Can show your relevant trade experience and have it verified
- Takes pride in the work and pays strong attention to detail
- Always committed to health and safety at work
- Dependable, with a professional way of working
- Works on their own and as an effective team member
- Fit for physical work in a tough industrial setting
- A Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application is highly regarded
- Recognised protective coatings qualifications, including AMPP/NACE, are highly regarded
- Each of these is highly regarded: a Forklift licence and a White Card
