HVAC Tradesperson / Air Conditioning Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and look after air conditioning and HVAC systems, including split, ducted and commercial systems and related equipment
- Inspect HVAC equipment closely and find faults
- Work out the cause of electrical, mechanical and refrigeration problems, and choose an efficient way to repair them
- Do scheduled services and preventative maintenance
- Fix breakdowns and bring HVAC systems back to a safe working condition
- Recover, charge and leak-test refrigerant to the required standards
- Test how each system performs and adjust it so it runs efficiently
- Follow safety procedures and industry rules on every site
- Keep accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance, and log faults, repair work and results in the required systems
- Cooperate with technicians, supervisors, clients and other trades
- Represent the business in a professional way
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas tidy and safe
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold a relevant trade qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant hands-on HVAC or air conditioning experience preferred
- You can show experience in installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems
- You are strong at fault finding, troubleshooting and diagnosis
- You can demonstrate genuine technical experience that can be verified, and provide documents for your qualifications and employment
- You have a strong understanding of workplace safety, electrical safety and HVAC maintenance procedures
- You work well independently and add value to a professional team
- Commercial, industrial or specialised air conditioning system experience is advantageous
- Refrigeration system and refrigerant handling experience is advantageous
- Experience with HVAC control systems, electrical controls and wiring is advantageous
- Breakdown and preventative maintenance experience is advantageous
- You are able to obtain a Police Clearance and to pass the required drug and alcohol screening where applicable
- You are willing to go through identity, qualification and employment verification
- You have strong customer service and communication skills, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate
