HR Manager

Do you like building workplaces where people do well? A growing, well-established business in New South Wales (NSW) needs an experienced HR Manager to lead its people function.

This role is bigger than paperwork. You will sit beside the business owners and leaders as a strategic partner. You help bring in top talent, grow new leaders, make the culture stronger and keep the company compliant while it expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan future staffing needs and lead the search for strong talent
  • Design onboarding and staff engagement programs, then deliver them well
  • Advise on employee relations issues, investigations at work and settling conflict
  • Support managers as they handle performance and help their people develop
  • Prepare and manage paperwork for employee sponsorship and visas
  • Make sure the business follows workplace policies and Australian employment legislation
  • Look after HR information systems and staff records, help coordinate payroll and handle HR admin
  • Check and update HR policies, procedures and best practice, and spot ways to make HR processes and operations run more efficiently
  • Encourage return-to-work initiatives and employee wellbeing
  • Build trust with people at every level, and help leadership with organisational planning and change
  • Use smart people management strategies to support growth and a positive, collaborative, high-performing culture

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Has worked as a Human Resources Manager or Senior HR Generalist
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australian employment laws and Modern Awards
  • Strong background across employee relations, recruitment and performance management
  • Excellent skills in coaching, leading people and managing stakeholders
  • Can handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving workplace
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, plus a high level of verbal and written communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • HR management systems experience is advantageous
  • Connecteam and Xero Payroll knowledge is desirable
  • Experience from retail, manufacturing, hospitality or other operational industries is highly regarded
  • Having managed visa processes and employee sponsorships is preferred
  • Adaptable, self-motivated and committed to high-quality HR outcomes
