HR Coordinator

Do you enjoy helping people at work? A respected organisation in Tauranga, New Zealand wants a proactive HR Coordinator for its People & Culture team. The team is busy and full of energy.

This job is more than routine admin. You will help with recruitment, employee engagement, HR systems, compliance support and better processes. You support staff through their whole journey with the organisation, and you work with leaders to make HR practice stronger and the workplace more positive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help keep everyday HR operations and people services running smoothly
  • Organise recruitment: talk with candidates, set up interviews and prepare employment documents
  • Run onboarding so new team members have a good first experience
  • Keep employee records, HR databases and confidential files accurate
  • Prepare employment agreements, contract changes and HR letters
  • Support employee lifecycle steps, such as changes, transfers and exits
  • Answer managers' questions about HR, policies and workplace procedures
  • Help with immigration and AEWV-related documents when needed
  • Coordinate training programmes, staff development and engagement activities, and promote a positive culture through good communication and employee support
  • Review HR processes to find better efficiency and service, and build HR resources, templates and systems for business needs

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business, Management or a related field, or equivalent HR experience
  • Past work as an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, People & Culture Assistant or a similar role
  • Practical knowledge of HR processes, employee documents and workplace practices, and experience with HR software, databases and digital systems
  • Understanding of employment compliance requirements and HR best practice
  • Previous exposure to immigration, visa or international recruitment processes is beneficial
  • Strong planning, organisation and time management
  • Excellent communication, with confidence working with people at all levels of an organisation
  • Can handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • A problem-solving mindset, willingness to improve processes and systems, strong relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in supporting people
  • Willing to relocate and build a long-term HR career in Tauranga, New Zealand
