HR and Recruitment Team Lead

Are you an HR leader who loves building strong teams? A growing industrial organisation in Western Australia needs an experienced HR & Recruitment Team Lead at Naval Base, Perth.
You will head a small HR and Recruitment group. Your focus is good hiring, clear workforce steps and solid people management. You will own the path from a staffing need to the right person starting work: spotting workforce needs, checking candidate experience, helping with verification and arranging onboarding. The aim is hiring that is open and reliable.
You will support workshop, metropolitan and project-based teams, with both local and international hiring. Tip: an English-language CV that clearly shows your leadership results is a good start.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach, guide and support your HR and Recruitment team so it meets workforce goals
- Set up recruitment processes that lead to accurate candidate checks and hiring results people can trust
- Handle full-cycle recruitment for blue-collar and white-collar jobs
- Check each candidate's experience, work history, qualifications and other relevant documents during recruitment
- Organise onboarding and mobilisation for new workshop, metropolitan and project-based staff
- Help recruit and process international and employer-sponsored candidates, including sponsorship requirements, compliance paperwork and contact with relevant migration providers
- Meet with operational leaders to plan current and future staffing needs, and build talent pipelines for new projects and growth
- Manage relationships with labour hire providers and outside recruitment suppliers
- Advise on employee relations, performance management, discipline, investigations and grievances
- Apply relevant Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and internal policies
- Track workforce data, HR metrics and how recruitment is performing, and coordinate employee reviews, training initiatives and skills matrix needs
- Find ways to improve recruitment systems, HR processes and operational efficiency
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in HR and recruitment
- Proven track record of managing full-cycle recruitment for high-volume blue-collar workforces
- Experience with candidate assessment, employment documents and recruitment compliance
- Knowledge of employer-sponsored visas and international recruitment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Experience in construction, mining, fabrication, resources or heavy industrial settings is highly regarded
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and grow a team
- Excellent communication skills and good stakeholder management
- A proactive, practical approach that focuses on solutions, and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-moving operational workplace
- Strong organisational and admin skills
- Experience in workforce planning, employee relations and performance management
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with HRIS and recruitment systems
- Eligible for employer sponsorship where required
