A new hospitality venue in New South Wales is looking for an experienced Head Chef. This is a big career chance for a chef who already knows how to lead a kitchen.
The employer does not just want someone to fill a spot. You need a clear record of managing people, keeping costs under control and serving consistent food at scale. Your experience, qualifications and work background will be key when they choose.
You will help hire the kitchen team, create the food concept and set the standards the venue will use from opening day and after. Get your English-language CV ready and show the size of the teams you have led.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen through the venue opening and into regular service
- Be fully in charge of the whole kitchen operation
- Hire and build a kitchen team of more than 20 people, then train, supervise and develop them
- Run busy, high-volume service while keeping food quality and presentation at standard
- Create menus that make commercial sense and put them in place
- Control spending on food, labour and purchasing, keep stock at the right level and reduce waste
- Build good links with local suppliers
- Set up kitchen systems and processes that work well
- Make sure the team follows HACCP, food safety and WHS rules
- Work closely with the venue's leaders, watch service performance and keep improving how the kitchen runs
Requirements & Eligibility
- Solid experience working as a Head Chef or senior chef
- You have led a large-scale or high-volume kitchen for 2–3 years
- You have managed 20+ kitchen employees and can prove it
- Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery
- Experience with menu planning and food costing that you can show
- Good business and financial understanding
- Proven skills in leading and developing staff
- Excellent communication and clear decision-making
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements
- You can provide professional experience that can be verified, and you are committed to professional hospitality standards
- You are willing to move to regional New South Wales
