Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus around seasonal ingredients and what residents enjoy
- Cook tasty, healthy and balanced meals
- Meet each resident's own dietary and nutrition needs
- Plate every meal to a high standard, every time
- Turn mealtimes into a pleasant dining experience for residents
- Lead your team in a confident, positive and professional way
- Train, guide and support the people in your kitchen
- Keep food safety and kitchen hygiene excellent, and make sure kitchen work follows the relevant compliance rules
- Place food orders and look after supplier needs
- Watch stock levels and cut down on waste
- Control kitchen spending and stay within budget
- Keep the kitchen safe, friendly and team-focused
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred
- A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Past work as a Head Chef or in another senior culinary leadership position
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Experience writing menus and handling dietary requirements
- Experience looking after kitchen costs and stock
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, plus strong communication and planning abilities
- Real passion for exceptional food and service
- A caring, respectful attitude when working with residents
- Able to complete a medical assessment and background checks
- Able to meet Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check requirements
